Pine-Richland Youth Center

Troop #150 is an outdoor-oriented, boy-led troop continuing the high adventure of scouting and driven to success. We have been serving the Gibsonia community and developing youth to become outstanding citizens and community leaders since 1938. To learn more about Troop #150, visit their website today.

 

We are proud to have a highly dedicated and effective group of adults to aid the Scouts in planning and providing exciting outings and entertainment chartered through the Pine-Richland Youth Center. The troop holds regular meetings three Thursdays each month from 6:30pm - 8pm at Bakerstown United Methodist Church. There is a variety of training available for volunteer adult leaders, parents and scouts. Boy scouting is for boys aged 11 up to their 18th birthday. The boy scout plans his advancement and progresses at his own pace as he meets each challenge. He is rewarded for each achievement, which helps him gain self-confidence, grow in self-reliance and develop the ability to help others.

 

As the chartered organization for the Boy Scouts of America, Troop #150, we honor those scouts that recently earned their Eagle Scout Award. In 2013, several scouts from Troop #150 earned their rank of Eagle Scout. Each Scout led and participated in a community project that helped to improve the community and contributed over a thousand hours of volunteer labor.While most of the completed projects have benefited Gibsonia organizations and educational institutions, communities as far north as Slippery Rock, PA and as far east as Shanksville, PA have benefitted from the energy and enthusiasm of Troop #150's scouts.

 

Past Eagle Scout Projects

• Built a path and sign for a veterans organization in Gibsonia.

• Built an outdoor classroom for a children's center in Gibsonia.

• Repaired an outdoor storage shed and built a table for a church in Gibsonia.

• Built an outdoor art center for a children's center in Gibsonia.

• Built park benches for a rose garden in Shanksville, PA.

• Built an ultimate frisbee course in Slippery Rock, PA.

• Built park benches and tables for a children's center in Gibsonia.Built raised planting beds for a special needs program at a middle school in Gibsonia.Built a new roof and sandbox at a children's center in Gibsonia.Installed new, engraved and natural paving stones to the entrance of a library in Gibsonia.
